The "Imaging and Forensic Network" is Growing!
==================================================
SDFI®-TeleMedicine Has Replaced The Colposcope
Within The Forensic Community

SDFI® pictures are 5,832% better/higher resolution than the best video colposcope!

For the FNE, SDFI®-TeleMedicine is based on the simple workflow process of: "SHOOT,  STORE  &  SEND".

For the L.E. and the D.A.,
SDFI®-TeleMedicine is as simple as: "CLICK, SAVE & CALL".

SDFI was designed for Sexual Assault Response Teams, specificly Forensic Examiners, who are required to: "Shoot, Store and Send" multiple high quality forensic digital pictures to detectives and lawyers working on the case.  The L.E. Detectives and the D.A's simply: "Click, Save & Call".

SDFI®-TeleMedicine is designed to serve as a complete colposcope replacement offering digital pictures that are 4,901% better than the first digital video colposcope. (SDFI®-TeleMedicine sells for under $25,000.00)   Imaging And Forensic Networking is the future!

Colposcope technology is now 84 years old!   See  http://www.asccp.org/edu/practice/cervix/colposcopy/history.shtml

Many don’t know that colposcopes were never designed for forensic use.  Polaroid, 35mm, video cameras and even good quality digital cameras have been mounted on colposcopes in an effort to capture forensic photographic evidence. The results have been exceptionally poor for many reasons including the fact that the light lens and camera are not in sync plus they are difficult to learn and to use, difficult to move and position and extremely limited in their use.

It is rumored that an examiner "must" see trauma with their own naked eye before testifying in court.  This rumor is misleading and untrue.  If it were true, you would not be allowed to use a colposcope or even wear eye glasses while performing an examination, because Eye Glasses, Contacts, Colposcopes, X-Rays, CAT Scans,  fMRI's and digital pictures are all considered to be visual aids.

In fact, the 2008 version of the U.S. Federal Rules of Evidence, from The "Committee on the Judiciary House of Representatives” does not mention eye glasses or colposcopes.  The Federal Rules of Evidence defines and addresses the use of digital photography as nationally accepted in the United States, both in the Supreme Courts and District Courts alike.

Page 25, Rule 1001, Article X of the U.S. Federal Rules of Evidence, 2008 reads: "Photograph(s), magnetic impulse, mechanical or electronic recording, or other form of data compilation", are acceptable in court.

That document goes on to say that if pictures are stored in a computer, can be seen on a computer screen and that they reflect the data accurately, then they can be considered to be ‘‘original’’ and can be used as evidence in court.

Medical professionals use “digital pictures” everyday.  Life and death decisions, based on Computed Axial Tomography or CAT Scans, Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Electroencephalography (EEG), Digital Radiology (X-Rays), Sonograms and Ultrasounds,  Digital Mammograms and Digital Camera Pictures are used to evaluate, diagnose, treat and help patients all over the nation.  Most, if not all of these "digital pictures" have been used as evidence within the last four years.  In short, digital pictures are legal if you can prove they are original, something  SDFI® was designed to do!

The next question is, of course: “Is Your Digital Image Original”?    With SDFI®-TeleMedicine, the answer is a resounding "YES"!

SDFI®-TeleMedicine is, by design, a secure and legal "Chain Of  Custody".  (See: http://www.sdfi.com/downloads/Digital_Protocol_2008.pdf)

There are five primary security elements that ensure SDFI®-TeleMedicine supports a simple "Shoot, Store, Send - Click, Save, Call" workflow process and a legal "SDFI Chain Of Custody".  (See:  http://www.sdfi.com/downloads/SDFI-TeleMedicine_White_Paper_on_Security.pdf)

They are:

1.) A magnified series of overlapping storyboard pictures.
2). All pictures are taken/captured in both RAW and JPG format.
3). All pictures are stored long term, on your own computer, with military grade file protection-encryption.
4). Before "sending", patient data is independently encrypted with more military grade file protection-encryption and a separate long  passphrase.
5). The
"SDFI® Internet File Portal" is also separately encrypted ensuring unparalleled security.

With SDFI®-TeleMedicine, the digital evidence collected is transmitted securely and safely over the internet.  For the recipient of the evidence file, this process is,  "CLICK, SAVE & CALL". (See: http://www.sdfi.com/downloads/SDFI_YELLOW_Download_Guide.pdf).   Once received, the recipient can print and/or present and/or forward and/or make CD's/DVD's as needed.

Six plus years of research was required to design and develop the "SDFI®-TeleMedicine" system.  Research continues keeping SDFI®-TeleMedicine at the forefront of forensic digital imaging.

SDFI®-TeleMedicine Digital Camera System

The
SDFI®-TeleMedicine digital camera system is designed to shoot both internal and external pictures.  The SDFI® camera comes pre-configured with auto focusing and auto lighting. When mounted on our low-profile portable stand, the SDFI® camera can be controlled by a remote stainless steel medical foot pedal leaving both hands free!

SDFI®-TeleMedicine is portable enough to carry onto a plane!

The SDFI®-TeleMedicine camera produces pictures that are 13 times better than the best digital colposcope or medscope picture.
